Closing Out

    Before logging out, you will need to close the till. To close the till, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Settings button, located in the lower-right corner of the screen, and select Close Till.

    2. Enter the total amount in coins and bills that are in the register.

    Below are examples of the different till settings. To edit your till options, see Adding Devices. The till setting options are:

    • Simple—The Simple method requires that the employee enters the total sum of all bill denominations in dollars and the total sum of all change denominations in cents. 
    • Complex A—The Complex A method requires that the employee enters the total amount of each denomination of bills ($1 bills, $5 bills, and so on) in dollars and the total amount of each denomination of change (quarters, dimes, and etc.) in cents. 
    • Complex B—The Complex B method requires that the employee enters the total number of bills or coins in each denomination, which will then calculate the dollar amount of the denomination.

    3. Press Confirm.

    4. At the confirmation screen, press Confirm again.

    Once the till is closed, you will have the option to print the Z-Tape and Journal Tape reports. 

    You can close out tips at any point during the day, but you will only be charged the batch fee when you select Settle All at the end.

    To close out tips, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Settings button, located in the lower-right corner of the screen, and select Batch Transactions.

    Note: Batch Transactions will only display if the tip line is enabled on your receipt(s) in the web portal.

    2. Find the transaction to which you would like to add a tip.

    The transactions are sorted with the most recent one at the top, or you can search by the last four digits on the card.

    3. Press the Tip button for the transaction to which you would like to add a tip and enter the tip amount.

    Note: Make sure you add tips before you select the Capture or Capture All button. Once you capture a transaction, you will not be able to add or adjust tips.

    4. Press the Capture button next to the transaction.

    5. Repeat the three previous steps to add tips for as many transactions as you wish, then press Close.

    6. At the end of the night, finish out all of the tip additions, as described above.

    All remaining transactions should be ones without tips, so you can individually capture those or select Capture All.

    7. Select Settle All to close the batch and send transactions to be funded. 

    Note: If you have a BridgePay compatible device (if your Device ID is MB3000-BXXXXXXXX) then you will not have a Settle All button as your account will settle automatically.

    If you accept credit cards, you will run a batch process to capture all of your credit card transactions and send them to your credit card processor. You will run the batch process only if you have the tip line feature enabled. For information on enabling the tip line feature, see Setting up Custom Receipts.

    To run a batch process, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Settings button, located in the lower-right corner of the screen, and select Batch Transaction.

    The Batch Process screen will appear.

    2. View each item in the pending batch, and adjust the payment amount and add a tip, if needed.

    NOTE: Make sure you add tips before you select the Capture or Capture All button. Once you capture a transaction, you will not be able to add or adjust tips.

    3. Select the item(s) that you wish to capture. If you wish to capture all authorized transactions, press the Capture All button.

    4. Press OK.

    5. Press the Settle All button. Note: If you have a BridgePay compatible device (if your Device ID is MB3000-BXXXXXXXX) then you will not have a Settle All button as your account will settle automatically.

    6. Press Close.

    After the till has been closed, the POS device will return to the main screen and all products will be grayed out so that they cannot be selected.

    To close the cash drawer, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Settings button, located in the lower-right corner of the screen, and press Close Register.

    To log out of the uAccept POS device, follow these steps:

    1. At any time, you can click your name in the lower-left corner of the device screen to display the Log Out option.

    2. Select Log Out to return to the login screen.
