To add or change the settings for your customer loyalty program, follow these steps:
1. From the Customers tab, select Loyalty Program, then Settings.
2. Click Edit.
3. Edit the following fields:
- Enable Loyalty?—Yes or No
- Promote your loyalty program on your receipt—Yes or No
- Script and/or Message—Enter the message that you would like to appear on your receipt. This field only appears if the previous field is enabled.
- How do you want to identify members?—Phone Number or Email
- Name Requirement Type—First Only, Last Only, or First and Last
- Receipt Message—Enter the message that you would like to appear on the loyalty member's receipt.
- Select a program type—Monetary or Frequency. If you select Monetary, customers will accumulate reward points based on the amount of money they spend. For example, if a customer spends $100.00, they receive a $5.00 reward. If you select Frequency, customers will accumulate reward points based on the number of visits. For example, if a customer pays for eight transactions, they receive 10% off their next transaction.
- Reward Threshold (Monetary program only)—Enter the dollar amount that customers will need to spend before they accumulate reward points.
- Select options to include toward reward (Monetary program only)—Taxes and/or Tips
- Parameters (Frequency program only)—Enter the minimum dollar amount that the customer must spend per visit for the visit to count toward rewards; enter the number of points per visit that the customers will receive; and enter the number of points required for a reward.
- Reward Type—Dollar Value or Percentage
- Delivery Method—Email, Text, Activated at POS During Next Transaction
4. Click Save.
EXAMPLE—Monetary Program
In this example of a Monetary Loyalty Program, if a customer spends $100.00, they will receive a $5.00 reward.
1. In the Program Type section, select Monetary from the drop-down menu.
Next, you will fill out the fields in the Monetary Program Type section.
2. In the Reward Threshold field, enter 100. This means that the customer must spend a total of $100 (could be during multiple visits) in order to earn a reward.
3. In the Select options to include toward reward section, you can check Taxes and/or Tips. If you select both Taxes and Tips, it means that the money that the customer spends on taxes and tips will be included in the amount they spend toward a reward.
4. From the Reward Type drop-down menu, select Dollar Value.
In this field, if you select Dollar Value, you can enter a discount dollar amount for a reward. If you select Percentage, you can enter a discount percentage as a reward. In this example, the customers will receive a $5.00 reward.
5. In the Reward Amount field, enter 5. This will give the customer a $5.00 discount reward.
6. Click Save.
EXAMPLE—Frequency Program
In this example of a Frequency Loyalty Program, if a customer pays for eight transactions, they will receive 10% off their next transaction.
1. In the Program Type section, select Frequency from the drop-down menu.
Next, you will fill out the fields in the Frequency Program Type section.
2. In the Minimum spent per visit field, enter 5. This means that the customers must spend $5.00 in order for the transaction to count toward a reward.
3. In the Points per visit field, enter 10. This means that the customer earns 10 points for each transaction of $5.00 or more.
4. In the Points required for reward field, enter 80. This means that once a customer accumulates 80 points (or eight visits), they will earn a reward.
5. From the Reward Type drop-down menu, select Percentage.
In this field, if you select Dollar Value, you can enter a discount dollar amount for a reward. If you select Percentage, you can enter a discount percentage as a reward. In this example, the customers will receive a $10% reward.
6. In the Reward Amount field, enter 10. This will give the customer a 10% discount reward.
7. Click Save.
